advanced placement & test exemptions

Students will be granted an exemption from College Expository Writing if they score 500 or more on the General Examination in English Composition (with essay). Students may also request an exemption from College Expository Writing if they have scored 28 or more on the ACT test or 650 or more on the SAT test in the relevant subject areas.

Students who are granted exemption must substitute the credits with a liberal arts elective. Students may request college credit for high school advanced placement courses and credit may be granted at the sole discretion of the College of Visual Arts.
