for international students
|
International students are encouraged to apply for
admission as early as possible. The I-20 form needed to obtain a student visa will be issued upon
acceptance to CVA and once the $200 tuition deposit has been received. In addition to the general admission
requirements, international applicants must also submit the following:
(1) PROOF OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: Unless English is one's first language, a minimum score of 500 on the paper Test of English
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), 173 on the computer version of the TOEFL, 61 on the internet-based version of the TOEFL, or completion
of an English as a Second Language (ESL) program through level 109 is required. A solid command of oral and written English is
necessary for success in CVA's programs. The college's TOEFL code number is 6108.
(2) CERTIFIED TRANSLATION OF ALL DOCUMENTS: Diplomas, transcripts, financial
statements and letters must be submitted in certified English translations.
CVA can refer students to organizations providing translations.
(3) DECLARATION OF FINANCES: International students must submit an official
affidavit and appropriate bank statement verifying adequate funds to cover tuition,
fees, housing and supplies for one academic year at CVA. Any declarations must be submitted in US currency.
TRANSFER CREDIT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Students wishing to transfer credits taken outside the United States to the College of Visual Arts must have an
equivalency evaluation performed by a recognized organization providing such services. CVA can refer students to
organizations providing evaluations.
