You initiate the admissions process by submitting a completed application form with a $40, nonrefundable application fee. A paper application form can be obtained from CVA’s Admissions Office or you may apply online. After your application is received, an admissions counselor will contact you about your remaining requirements and to schedule a visit.
Submit a one- or two-page essay that describes what excites you about art and design. This is also an opportunity to write about previous academic experiences, your goals and why attending CVA will help you achieve them.
Transfer students must have official, sealed transcripts sent to CVA from their high school and all post-secondary institutions attended. Information on transferring credit to CVA.
An ACT or SAT score is required for all applicants unless you are transferring from another college with more than 30 successfully completed college credits at an accredited institution.
Your portfolio should include 12–20 examples of artwork. More information on the portfolio review
