introduction to painting | beyond beginner painting

If you have always thought about taking a painting class – now is the time. This class provides an introduction to basic materials, techniques, and practices of painting. Experiment with color, brush stroke, and composition. Gain confidence while exploring the fundamentals of painting in this “beyond beginner” course. Learn how to clarify colors and color choices, improve your brush stroke and surface dynamics, and create more exciting compositions. All levels welcome.

headshot About the Instructor: Valerie Frank
Valerie has lived and shown her work throughout the Midwest and Western United States, primarily Santa Fe, New Mexico. She received an MFA from the University of New Mexico, and a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Currently she is teaching at the College of Visual Arts and the University of Minnesota. Her paintings are in collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Mexico, and available for view at valfrank.com.
