Learn how to create digital video projects using the groundbreaking new version of Final Cut Pro X.  Narrative, documentary and experimental video projects will be explored. Bring your own original footage (.mov files on an external hard drive) or edit copyright free appropriated footage from online sources.

This class is designed for anyone looking to edit (post production) in Final Cut Pro X.  No prior experience or knowledge of digital video creation or editing is necessary.  Students should have some knowledge of Macintosh computer environments, basic computer navigation and a desire to experiment with digital video as a medium for art making.

Creation of your own YouTube or Vimeo Channel for sharing video projects will be introduced.

Supplies needed: Original digital video projects in .mov format; mac compatible external hard drive with at least 10 GB storage capability (suggest external hard drive with 50 GB of storage or more)

headshotAbout the Instructor: Cheryl Wilgren Clyne
Cheryl Wilgren Clyne received her MFA in Studio Arts from the University of Minnesota, with a focus in Experimental and New Media.  She is an adjunct instructor at the College of Visual Arts in Digital Photography and Intro / Advanced Digital Video classes.  In October of 2011, she opened the doors to her new art gallery, air sweet air, in downtown St. Paul.  Wilgren Clyne has exhibited at the Walker Art Center, Minnesota Museum of American Art, Burnet Art Gallery, Soap Factory,  Harry M. Drake Gallery and Rosalux. Her art has traveled to Germany, China, South Korea,  Scotland and England.  She also teaches in several non traditional venues.
