Capture the changing season in colored chalk pastel. Interpret the local landscape through abstraction or realism. The workshop includes an introduction, demonstration in use of colored chalk pastels, and application. We welcome all levels of experience from novice to professional artist.The workshop will begin with a welcome session on Friday evening, followed by a 6-hour session on Saturday, and concluding with a Sunday morning session. Upon registration you will receive more information regarding purchasing a $45 materials kit.

About the Instructor: Ann Ledy
Ann Ledy returned to her hometown of Saint Paul, Minnesota in 2004, after spending twenty-eight years in New York City, as both a practicing artist and academic. Today, Ann is President and Chief Academic Officer of the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul.
Ann holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in Painting from the University of Minnesota, and a Master in Fine Arts degree in Painting from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Her long career in higher education began in 1979 at Parsons School of Design in New York City, where for twenty-five years she taught drawing and served as department chair of the first year Foundation Program.
Ann has exhibited her artwork extensively in solo and group exhibitions in New York, Germany, and Korea. Her works on paper can be found in many collections including Harvard University Fogg Art Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, the Walker Art Center, and Yale University Art Gallery. Most recently, her works on paper were exhibited at the San Diego Museum of Art, in an exhibition entitled, Spatial Gestures: New Acquisitions; and in an exhibition, at the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Esteban Vicente, in Segovia, Spain.
