Immerse yourself in the art, culture, and life of the Big Apple when you enroll in our summer program: Art in New York City. This course offers an in-depth study of the cultural, art historical, and contemporary significance of New York. Students explore the role New York plays in the cultural life of the United States through a variety of critical readings that address the art, architecture, literature, and history of the city.
The course culminates in a week-long trip to New York where visits to world-renowned galleries, museums, and artist and designer studios provide a rich snapshot of this engaging global center of art and design. Museum hopping may include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the International Center for Photography, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Cooper Hewitt, AIGA, and the Guggenheim Museum, to name a few.
