Project Description

The College of Visual Arts is seeking proposals for the annual Portals on Western public art installation exhibition program that supports the work of Minnesota artists. The Portals on Western public exhibition space is located in the windows and storefront of the CVA Gallery Building at the corner of Western and Selby avenues, creating a nexus between community organizations, small businesses, and the arts.

Artist Information Session

Tuesday, May 17, 2011
6 to 7 p.m.
CVA Gallery

CVA will hold an informational session for artists interested in submitting a proposal. Please join us at the CVA Gallery on Tuesday, May 17 from 6 to 7 p.m. Artists will be able to see the physical space of the installation site, as well as review the project and application guidelines.

Deadline

Friday, June 10, 2011
Proposals must be received by 12 p.m.

Goals

The College of Visual Arts is committed to increasing exhibition opportunities in Saint Paul. The goals of the Portals on Western program are to:

  • Provide artists with a site specific, public art installation space for exhibition.
  • Create a vibrant exhibition space that takes art to the public.
  • Engage the community through this exhibition program.
  • Introduce CVA students to the art and the participating artists.
