At the College of Visual Arts, we strive to recognize both academic and artistic merit of our students. In order to do so, we have a variety of scholarship and grant programs awarded to incoming and current students.

These scholarships provide an annual $6,500 scholarship to a number of selected students over their four years of study at CVA. Criteria for selection follows the admissions scholarship application guidelines, which includes a GPA of 3.5 or above accompanied by a studio portfolio for review. This four-year scholarship is renewable if the student maintains full-time enrollment and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
These $1,000 scholarships are given within each discipline. Awards are announced at the March award ceremony. Qualified applicants must be currently enrolled as a full-time student, have cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 through the spring semester, must complete 24 credits during the academic year, and must have a minimum of 24 credits remaining toward graduation.
The Academic Scholarship recognizes students who have achieved academically in high school or college. This scholarship is awarded at the time of admission to CVA to students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and have class rank and test scores consistent with classroom performance. This four-year scholarship is renewable if the student maintains full-time enrollment and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Accepted students can apply for additional scholarship based on artistic and academic merit as well as the overall strength of the scholarship and admission application. These $500 scholarships are awarded to eligible students participating in the annual academic scholarship exhibition. Awards are announced at the March award ceremony. Qualified applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 through the spring semester.
This Endowment is supported through the generosity of donors who wish to support student opportunities in higher education in the visual arts. This is a consolidated Fund, consisting of contributions from multiple donors. Donors giving more than $10,000 are recognized as donors to the Fund. The CVA Scholarship Endowment Fund is managed by The Saint Paul Foundation.
