Parr in Solo Exhibition

Alumna Katie Parr’11 has been selected by Altered Esthetics’ Solo Exhibition Program for her first solo exhibition Echo and Silence hosted by Bicycle Theory from September 1 - October 24, 2011. Her current series of photographs takes an objective look at stillness, silence, loneliness, and longing. By Parr’s use of large images that distort reality and perception, the viewer literally steps into the personal and intimate experience of isolation and the desire to escape. The images create a springboard for contemplation and meditation on a perplexing and mysterious state of mind.
