Alumna Hannah Frick ’11, is guest curator at The Gallery at Fox Tax of Unquenchable Fire, a group exhibition of nine young artists whose work imparts a youthful energy. Unquenchable Fire features work by CVA alumni Josh Grubbs ’09, Sara Larson ’05, Dan Murphy ’00, and Garrett Perry’08. Also included in the exhibition are Stefani Bingham, Heather Byington, Madison Dubé, Gregory Ganeles, and Luke Grothe.
This exhibition offers a glimpse into the life of an adolescent: young people who are living a life of opposites. They are lighthearted, but serious, full of confidence, but unsure. Risks and experimentation are part of the fun. But these choices lead to a loss of innocence and invite a new perspective. The search for fulfillment through wild and crazy fun turns to reaching and longing for what may be an unattainable goal. Reality includes responsibility and growing up. Unquenchable Fire showcases these opposing sides.
This exhibition is in conjunction with Art-A-Whirl in Northeast Minneapolis.
