Reischl '98 at Burnsville Performing Arts Center

Alumnus Jon Reischl ’98 is one of two artists featured in Pilgrims and Passages at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center. Pilgrims by Reischl is a series of paintings about establishing familiarity with foreign elements. Reischl works in layers of overlapping digital imagery from collected old photographs and his own new photography, transferring them to wood or canvas, and applying paint to reinterpret the composition. Combined in this way they evoke more complex memories than the individual parts.
