Larson '11 in MNfashion Week

Nicole Larson ’11 was a part of the first runway show of MNfashion Week in Minneapolis on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 along with designers Christopher Straub and Lindsey Hopkins. The Shows, which were voted Best Fashion Event in 2011 by Minnesota Monthly, made a triumphant return September 25 - 27, 2012, showcasing Spring/Summer 2013 collections.

Larson’s MNfashion collection was inspired by a trip to Romania in which she found the people in the villages to be enchanting. However, the traveling gypsy’s and the mystery surrounding their life journeys also intrigued Nicole. She brought back traditional fabrics to incorporate into her garments and the resulting looks “are a mix of traditional Romanian costume mixed with the edginess of a gypsy. My looks remind me a bit of a theatrical ballet,” states Nicole.

MNfashion Week, which ran from September 23 - 30, 2012, is dedicated to evolving the local fashion industry by giving independent designers, boutique owners and other industry professionals a chance to showcase their work and their brands.
