Shark at Minnesota Museum of American Art

March 6, 2013

CVA student Shark E. Shredder is one of twelve artists featured in D.I.Y. Printing: Presses Not Required at the Minnesota Museum of American Art in Saint Paul from March 7 - April 28, 2013. The exhibition will also include works from the MMAA’s printmaking collection.

Many of the exhibiting artists work outside of the traditional studio set up, printing in their living room or from the kitchen sink. Others have pooled their resources with like-minded colleagues to set up modest print shops.  All of the artists in the show remix traditional techniques such as screen printing, relief printing and stencils with non-traditional materials.

Due to the theme of this exhibition, there will be opportunity for visitors to try printing techniques for themselves. Several of the participating artists will lead printing workshops.
